'Happy Days' Cast Reveal Fond Memories From the Classic TV Show

Since the iconic series Happy Days went off the air, countless TV shows have graced our screens. But let's be real—none of them have come close to capturing the magic that held the nation spellbound from 1974 to 1984. It wasn't just about the storylines or the charm of the characters—it was something much deeper.

The Chemistry That Made Happy Days Special

“There was an ‘it’ factor—it’s the chemistry of this cast that you just can’t create,” Anson Williams, who played Warren “Potsie” Weber on the show, exclusively told Closer Weekly in the magazine’s latest issue, currently available on newsstands. Costar Don Most wholeheartedly agreed. “It was just a magical moment in time,” he also told Closer. “The stars were aligned.”

Behind the Scenes: A Family Bond

What made Happy Days stand out wasn’t just the engaging storylines but the incredible camaraderie among the cast. They treated each other like family and supported each other through thick and thin, especially when Henry Winkler rose to fame as Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli, or simply “The Fonz.”

  • “People used to ask me, ‘Are you jealous?’” Anson recalled with a laugh. “I’d say, ‘Are you kidding me?’ Henry’s one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met, so I was thrilled for him. In fact, he even helped me buy a house!”

Ron Howard, who played Richie Cunningham, also had nothing but admiration for Henry. “Henry went to Yale Drama School and was a trained New York actor, while I grew up in the Hollywood TV system,” he told Closer. “Working with someone so thoughtful, creative, and hilarious was an incredible learning experience for me. We just clicked instantly.”

The feeling was mutual. “We have a connection that’s hard to put into words,” Henry said fondly about Ron. “He’s like a brother to me.”

    A Legacy That Lasts

Even after the show ended, the cast has remained close. They didn’t let the passage of time or distance break the bonds they formed on set. “We’ve always stayed close friends,” Marion Ross, who played Marion Cunningham (a.k.a. “Mrs. C”), told Closer. “That’s pretty rare for a show.”

“Through the good times and the bad, it’s been invaluable,” Anson added, reflecting on the lasting friendship. “There’s something special about the connection we all share.”
