Since Alexis's birth in 2017, Serena has always dreamed of giving her little girl a sibling. But as time passes, the tennis legend is starting to feel the clock ticking. She’s worried that it might be too late for Alexis to have a younger sibling close in age.
Speaking candidly to Page Six, Serena admitted, “I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I wanted her to have a sibling, and it’s getting farther and farther away.’ Alexis is 2, and I’ve always envisioned her having a sibling close in age. You see, I’m super close to my sister Venus—we’re only 15 months apart. But now, I’m realizing that ship might have sailed. Still, I’m not giving up hope. Obviously, I want more kids!”

Serena and Alexis Ohanian: A Family That Loves Deeply
Serena shares her beautiful daughter with her husband, Alexis Ohanian. Thanks to their little bundle of joy, Serena has been able to impart invaluable advice to her twin sister, Venus Williams, about motherhood. Venus, who is 39, looks up to Serena for guidance on how to be a great mom someday.
“What I admire most about Serena is her unwavering dedication,” Venus told Us Weekly. “If I ever become a mom, she’s shown me exactly how to do it. Honestly, I had these preconceived notions about motherhood that were completely off base. And, funny enough, my mom warned me about them—but let’s face it, you don’t always listen to your mom!”
Venus's Future Plans and Serena's Influence
Although Venus doesn’t have children yet, she dreams of starting a family one day. And she knows she can always lean on Serena for advice. “The amount of time Serena dedicates to her daughter, the bond they share, and the love they have for each other—it’s truly something to aspire to,” Venus admitted. “Serena has definitely set the bar high for me. She’s shown me the straight and narrow path.”
It’s not just Venus who admires Serena’s parenting skills. Duchess Meghan is a huge fan too! The 37-year-old royal is always there to support her close friend, and Serena treasures their bond. During a post-match press conference in July, Serena praised Meghan, saying, “She’s such an incredible friend and person. No matter what, she’s always positive. It’s amazing to have people like that in your life.”
