With a perfectly curated Instagram that has attracted nearly four million followers, social media star Katie Stauffer is all about living life to the fullest as a mom of five. In a recent heart-to-heart with Closer Weekly, Katie — affectionately known to her fans as the Stauffer family matriarch — dished on how her life has transformed since sharing her family's journey on social media.
Now, let me tell you something, life wasn't always this way for Katie. Up until about two years ago, she was juggling a full-time job. "I was working so hard that it actually brought us closer together when I stopped," the stunning 41-year-old beauty revealed. She’s the proud mom of Kaitlin, 16, Charles, 12, Finn, 10, and 4-year-old twins Mila and Emma, all with her husband Charles Stauffer. "And when I wasn’t working, we were trying to get all the other stuff done in life," she added.

Building a Social Media Empire
Besides rocking her role as the best mom to her brood, Katie runs a booming social media empire, including an Instagram and YouTube page. These platforms are filled with adorable photos and videos showcasing her family's daily life. You might think being a social media influencer is a dream job, but for Katie, the real joy lies in the closeness she shares with her children. She recently teamed up with Vicks to launch their new Children’s Cough & Congestion medicine, proving that she can balance both worlds seamlessly.
Katie explained that her passion for documenting her kids' lives turned into a profitable business opportunity around 2014. Her eldest child, Kaitlin, approached her about producing videos for their page. "She's always been into making videos with the kids and the boys, creating movie trailers using iMovie. We'd laugh endlessly as she'd dress the boys up as girls," Katie fondly recalled.

The Turning Point
Here's the kicker: Kaitlin asked if she could share a video she made of her sister Mila, who was barely 2 years old at the time, on her mom's social media page. "She said, 'Can I post it?' And I was like, 'But it's going to make my feed look ugly,'" Katie confessed about her initial hesitation. "But I said, 'OK, fine, I'll do it — and the rest is history.'"
Since then, Katie has had the best time creating content with her family's help. She gushed that watching her kids' creativity shine has been one of her favorite parts of their family account.

Watching the Kids Thrive
Katie shared that the coolest part of this journey has been seeing her kids' talents bloom. "They all love being on camera," she said. "Kaitlyn loves writing music and has even won awards for her work. Charles, his dancing — he's amazing. And Finn, he started an Instagram for his comics. It's bringing out all this creativity in them, and it's so cool to watch their confidence grow and bring us all closer together."
Overall, Katie is loving life as a super cool mom and successful social media star. "It really brought us closer together because it was exciting to see people enjoy what we were doing. By the third video, it was blowing up. It was amazing to see people loving what she was doing and all the messages we were getting," she said.
