Patrick Duffy’s world came to a standstill in 2017 when he lost his beloved wife, Carlyn Rosser. Together for an incredible 43 years, their love was the foundation of his life. Carlyn, who passed away at the age of 77, left behind not only Patrick but also their two sons, Padraic, 45, and Conor, 39. In a candid conversation with Closer Weekly, Patrick shares how her memory continues to shape his days.
At the It’s a Wonderful Lifetime holiday party on October 22, the 70-year-old Dallas actor opened up about his journey since Carlyn's passing. “I can hear her. I can see her,” Patrick revealed exclusively to Closer Weekly. He continues to feel her presence in every moment, guiding him through life. “I know what she would expect of me, and I try my best to live up to that,” he said with heartfelt sincerity.

Patrick's Unwavering Connection to Carlyn
Even though two years have passed since Carlyn's death, Patrick remains deeply connected to her memory. “I feel close to her all the time,” he confided. Yet, there’s a void that nothing can fill. “What I miss most is her touch,” he admitted. For Patrick, the bond they shared was so profound that he still considers himself a married man, carrying their love story with him every day.

A Love Story That Lasted a Lifetime
Patrick and Carlyn’s love story began in the most unexpected way. Patrick, then an inexperienced college graduate touring as a narrator with a dance production, crossed paths with Carlyn, a stunning ballerina ten years his senior. “We met on the tour bus, and that was it—for life,” he reminisced. From the moment their eyes met, they knew their lives were destined to intertwine.
Their connection was so powerful that neither could imagine dating anyone else after meeting. Patrick and Carlyn were each other’s perfect match. When Carlyn passed away, Patrick found himself lost without her. “It was a shock when she passed. There was no warning,” he admitted. “That was the hardest adjustment I’ve ever had to make.”

Finding Strength in Family
Through this difficult journey, Patrick found solace in the support of his sons, Padraic and Conor. “My boys were there as my rock,” he said.
