“Parenthood is like this massive reset button for your soul. When you have a kid, it redefines what love means. It's like, wow, your perspective on life completely shifts. David's journey into fatherhood began in 2004 when he welcomed his daughter Coco with then-wife Courteney Cox. After their split in 2013, David found love again with journalist Christina McLarty. Together, they now have two boys, Charlie, 5, and Gus, 2. It’s like he says, “These kids, man, they’re wild! So funny and just full of energy!”
Days Filled with Adventure: The Life of a Dad
David is a hands-on dad, diving headfirst into the imaginative world of childhood. “There’s a lot of swords and pirate fighting, you know, attacking each other. It’s been a blast,” he said with a laugh. One day, they might be pirates; the next, witches or zombies. “We were pirates today. We were witches. We were zombies all morning! We’d say, ‘Alexa, play haunted house music,’ and we’d scare each other. It’s pretty fun stuff.”
Family Plans: Are More Kids on the Horizon?
While David is clearly head over heels for his three kids, don't expect more additions to the family anytime soon. “I don’t think so! My wife’s good. So I’m good,” he said with a smile. This isn’t the first time David has spoken about his children. In the past, he’s discussed the importance of making co-parenting work with Courteney, emphasizing the need for mutual respect and understanding.

David understands the pain that divorce can bring and believes in finding a peaceful resolution. “Divorce is so painful for everyone involved—it’s a waste of time and money [to fight]. Anyone who’s going to put on boxing gloves when they get a divorce is making the wrong move,” he told Closer Weekly. It’s about putting the kids first and ensuring they feel the love and respect between both parents.
“No matter what challenges people face, you still have a child together. It’s crucial that your child knows you respect each other,” David emphasized. It’s a message of hope and unity, reminding us that love and respect should always come first.
