Here's a story about taking life at a slower pace. Eddie Murphy, the legendary comedian and actor, has been enjoying a much-deserved break from the spotlight over the past few years. In fact, he recently opened up about how he's been spending his time, and it's surprisingly simple.
“For me, fun is just lounging around at home with my wife, Paige Butcher, nearby while my kids are around, and just doing absolutely nothing. And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing for the last six years,” Eddie shared with reporters, including Closer Weekly, at the Los Angeles premiere of Dolemite Is My Name. Paige, ever the loving partner, corrected him with a laugh: “Seven!” reminding him that his break from the grind has actually been even longer than he realized.

Since tying the knot with actress Paige Butcher in 2012, Eddie has been focused on family life. They’ve welcomed two children together: Izzy, 3, and Max, who’s just 9 months old. But let’s not forget, Eddie’s also a proud father to eight other kids—Eric, 30; Bria, 29; Christian, 28; Miles, 26; Shayne, 24; Zola, 19; Bella, 17; and Angel, 12. Now, after all that downtime, Eddie is ready to shine again.
