Padma Lakshmi is Back with an Exciting New Show on Hulu

Hey there, food lovers! If you're a fan of Top Chef and its charismatic host, Padma Lakshmi, you're in for a treat. The 48-year-old culinary queen is set to bring her charm and culinary expertise to Hulu in 2020. This new show, which is still untitled, is being described as "a living cookbook made up more from people and culture than recipes." That sounds like a deliciously intriguing concept, doesn't it?

What to Expect from This New Series

According to the official press release, this series will embrace culinary traditions from the first Americans to the latest arrivals. What's really exciting is that the show will feature Padma's unique perspectives and personal connections to each story. This means we'll get to see not just the food, but the stories and emotions behind it, all through Padma's eyes. It's going to be a fascinating journey into the heart of America's diverse food culture.

Each episode will take you on a culinary adventure around the country. It will start with a single dish that represents a community's history and traditions. From there, it will explore the evolution of that immigrant community through its cuisine. Imagine diving into the flavors and stories of communities that have shaped America's food landscape over the years.

There are meals in your life you will never forget. Meals you will tell your grandkids about. Last night was one of them. I had dinner with someone I’ve admired for a long long time. And she did not disappoint. Witty and whip smart, she had a twinkle in her eye the whole night. We sipped champagne, savored our gazpacho and crab and talked of India in the 80’s and so much more. A special thank you to the gracious and funny David Hagedorn and his husband Michael Widomski for an evening filled with love and laughter. #dinnerwithRBG #RBG

From Family Recipes to High-End Dining: A Culinary Journey

The series will cover a wide range of culinary experiences, from family recipes and street food to high-end restaurants. Each dish explored will symbolize a unique journey and story, offering viewers a window into where communities came from and how they've settled in America. In the hands of different families and waves of immigration, an organic evolution emerges between traditional recipes and new approaches, all captured through Padma's eyes. This isn't just about food—it's about the stories and emotions behind it.

A Solo Adventure in the World of Food TV

Produced by Part2 Pictures, the 10-episode series will feature 30-minute episodes. This is Padma's first solo venture in the food TV world, and she couldn't be more excited. "It’s all happening ✨@hulu," Padma tweeted, sharing her excitement. "If you know me, you know creating this show with @hulu is my dream come true," she said in another tweet. "I get to meet so many inspiring immigrants from around the country and explore their cultural/personal narratives through their food. #weareallimmigrants."

    Family First: Padma's Greatest Accomplishment

While Padma is undoubtedly proud of her career, her greatest accomplishment is her daughter, Krishna, who is 9 years old. "I’m so lucky to have her," Padma gushed to Closer Weekly in May. "Her middle name is Thea, which means 'gift from God.'" Padma also reflected on her priorities, saying, "In 10 years, I’m not going to look back and say, ‘Oh, look at all these beautiful projects I’ve done.’ I’m going to say, ‘Was I there for Krishna?’" It's clear that family comes first for Padma, even as she embarks on this exciting new adventure.

We can't wait for Padma's latest project and are sure her daughter Krishna is just as excited. 2020, where are you?!
