Maceo was zipping around on his scooter, clearly having the time of his life. It’s been a while since Halle, now 52, and Oliver, 53, were seen together since their divorce in 2013. Now, let’s talk about Halle Berry for a moment. Aside from Maceo, she’s also a proud mom to her 11-year-old daughter, Nahla, whom she shares with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. As a mom of two, Halle has made some big decisions when it comes to sharing her children’s lives online. For instance, she chose to share a picture of Maceo’s face on Instagram for the first time, a move that came with some serious thought and deliberation.

“That was a struggle,” Halle confessed in an interview with Extra, referring to the decision to reveal Maceo’s face during their Bora Bora vacation in June 2018. She went on to explain, “I really don’t like to show my kids very much … but I do realize … my people are, like, solid for me and me for them and I feel like I want to include them.”

“But it’s a fine line because I don’t want to exploit my children,” she added. “I want to protect my children, so I thought, ‘Half the face is good.’” Halle’s protective instincts kicked in even more when someone online criticized her for not showing her children’s faces.

Halle Stands Firm on Protecting Her Kids

When an Instagram user commented, “They’re beautiful children why not show them off?” Halle responded with clarity and grace. “I’ve noticed you have said this several times now so let me be clear — I’m not at all ashamed of [my] children. I try to find creative ways to incorporate them into my feed because they are the biggest part of my life,” she admitted. “When they grow and they’re of age and they want [to] share their images on the internet, that will be for them to decide, not me. Feel me? Have a beautiful day.”
