Life has thrown unimaginable challenges at radio host Delilah. In 2012, she tragically lost her 16-year-old son, Sammy, to complications from sickle-cell anemia. Just five years later, in 2017, her 18-year-old son, Zack, took his own life. These back-to-back losses left Delilah in a whirlwind of grief, unsure of how to move forward. A Life-Changing Perspective

Delilah recently opened up about her journey on The Dr. Oz Show. She shared how a phone call from country songwriter Rory Feek shifted her entire perspective. Rory, who had also experienced the loss of his wife to cancer, offered words that resonated deeply with Delilah. "He called me and said, 'Delilah, your boys are much more a part of your future than they are of your past,'" Delilah recalled. This simple yet profound statement planted a seed of hope in her heart, reminding her that her sons' legacies would always be a part of her life moving forward.

Reconciling with the Unthinkable

Delilah admitted that at first, she was in disbelief. "How can you say that? I don’t get to go to their weddings, I don’t get to see their babies, I don’t get to be a grandma, I don’t get to see them graduate," she said, expressing the raw emotions she felt in those moments. But Rory’s response struck a chord. "Because you know where they are, and you know you’ll be with them in the future," he gently reminded her. Those words gave her a sense of peace she hadn't known before.

Sammy's Story

After Sammy, one of her 11 adopted children, passed away, Delilah immersed herself in understanding the medicine he was on. "I went into a rage when I started doing the research on the medicine I told you that he was given," she revealed. However, even after extensive research, Delilah remains unsure of the exact medications Sammy was taking. It’s a mystery that adds to the complexity of her grief.

Zack's Final Moments

Delilah’s biological son, Zack, left an indelible mark on her life. She remembered the eerie conversation they had shortly before his death, where he spoke about "weird space travel and weird time loop continuums." "He gave me permission to call his doctor, and I did call," she explained. "His doctor never returned my call." On October 3, Zack tragically took his own life, leaving behind a nine-page letter tucked under his pillow. The letter spoke of time travel and the need to "fix something that was wrong," a haunting message that left Delilah with more questions than answers.

Remembering Zack
