Hey there, let’s talk about Meghan Markle. Now, Meghan has been under the microscope ever since she joined the royal family by marrying Prince Harry. But here’s the thing—despite the criticism that's been thrown her way, Meghan's made it clear she's not your typical royal. She's carving out a different path, one that’s more down-to-earth and personal. Instead of following tradition to a T, she's setting her own tone, and it's pretty refreshing.
According to a report from The Telegraph, Meghan, who's now 38, has made it known that she doesn’t want people to call her by her formal title. That’s right, folks—she's asked others to skip the formalities. The same report notes that Meghan doesn’t exactly want people to "love" her in the traditional sense. Instead, she prefers to be heard, especially when discussing issues that matter deeply to her, like mental health. This is a woman who's not just here for appearances; she's here to make a difference.

Breaking Tradition: Meghan's Unique Approach
From the moment Meghan stepped into her role as Duchess of Sussex, it was obvious she was going to shake things up. She's not one to shy away from talking about the challenges of her transition into royal life or the pressures that come with being in the public eye. In a recent interview with ITV News at Ten anchor Tom Bradby for the documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, Meghan opened up about the overwhelming nature of her new life.

“Especially as a woman, it’s really intense,” Meghan shared. “It’s a lot. You add this on top of just trying to be a new mom and trying to be a newlywed. ... And also, thank you for asking, because not many people will have asked if I’m okay. But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”
Meghan's Honest Take on Life as a Royal
Meghan admitted that adjusting to her new life in the royal family hasn’t been easy. “Look, any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable,” she explained. “So that was made really challenging, and then, when you have a newborn, you know?” Meghan also revealed that she never anticipated the level of scrutiny she would face when she first started dating Prince Harry, who’s now 35.
“In all fairness, I had no idea, which probably sounds difficult to understand and hear,” Meghan continued. “But when I first met my now-husband, my friends were really happy because I was so happy. But my British friends said to me, ‘I’m sure he’s great but you shouldn’t do it because the British tabloids will destroy your life.’”
