Even the legendary Hugh Jackman isn’t immune to the occasional family drama brought on by fame. In a candid interview, the proud father of two shared how his 14-year-old daughter Ava has started to feel the weight of her dad’s celebrity status. It all started when Hugh, a devoted dad, used to enjoy attending Ava’s dance recitals to cheer her on. But after the massive success of The Greatest Showman, things took a surprising turn.
“My daughter loves dance, and I’d go watch her practice,” Hugh revealed to Closer UK magazine, as reported by the Daily Mail. “But after The Greatest Showman, it became a bit of a spectacle. I had 60 little girls in tutus swarming me, and my daughter was like, ‘Dad, you’re not coming to my dance class anymore!’” Hugh laughed it off, but it’s a testament to how even the most beloved celebrities can sometimes find themselves in unexpected situations.

Family Life Beyond the Spotlight
Hugh shares his life with Ava and his 19-year-old son, Oscar, alongside his wife of 23 years, actress Deborra-Lee Furness. Despite being a global star, Hugh admits that his family sometimes feels the effects of his fame. While they’re incredibly supportive, even his loved ones have their limits when it comes to his work. The Logan star joked about how his family is growing weary of the constant The Greatest Showman soundtrack.

“It’s not really my world. I’m an actor, not a recording artist. I’ve done a few cast albums, so my kids and even my wife are getting so sick of hearing those songs,” Hugh confessed to NME in March. “They’re like, ‘Dad, it’s been at No. 1 for the 20th week!’ And I’m still thrilled about it.” Clearly, his enthusiasm hasn’t waned, and neither has ours!
The Greatest Showman: A Legacy in the Making
The Greatest Showman wasn’t just a hit—it became a cultural phenomenon. With its infectious music and heartwarming story, it captured the hearts of millions. Now, fans have even more to look forward to, as a sequel is officially in the works. Director Michael Gracey, who also helmed the Elton John biopic Rocketman, is hard at work on the follow-up. “When a movie becomes as successful as this, it’s only natural that there’s a demand for a sequel. Those discussions have started, and we’re actively working on one right now,” Michael revealed to The Sun in February.
