Amidst a weekend filled with not-so-great news from across the nation, a little happiness lit up NBC’s Today show. Co-host Jenna Bush Hager, who anchors the 10 a.m. hour, called in from the hospital with some truly heartwarming news for herself and her husband, Henry Hager.
A Heartwarming Arrival
“Hey, everyone! Guess what? I have a new baby boy,” Jenna joyfully announced to her co-workers and the millions of viewers tuning in. “We met our little miracle on Friday morning, and, let me tell you, maternity leave couldn’t have come at a better time. We decided to name him Henry Harold. Harold is after my grandpa, and, of course, Henry is after his dad. Now, the name wasn’t set in stone until the big sisters, Mila and Poppy, arrived. They started calling him ‘Hal pal,’ and we all thought, ‘This is just perfect.’”

Recovery and Reflection
Following the c-section that delivered little Henry into the world, Jenna shared that she was feeling both great and incredibly happy. “When you’re stuck in a hospital room with a newborn and you see that pure joy and light, it really makes you realize something important,” she reflected. “We need to make this world better for our little ones. Even though the news outside these walls might not be so great, you see the joy in their eyes, and you know that’s what we’re here to do—make their lives safe and full of love.”
Family Reunion
She added that her entire family was there to celebrate, including her parents. However, her dad, former President George W. Bush, was “a little miffed” that the baby’s name wasn’t George. But hey, it seems he got over it pretty quickly. Jenna also mentioned how thrilled her daughters, Mila and Poppy, are to have a little brother. “They’re just over the moon,” she said with a smile.

Henry’s Take on the New Addition
When asked about her husband Henry’s feelings on having a new man in the house, Jenna laughed and said, “He knows that I have a new boyfriend now.” But she added with a chuckle, “We can’t wait to get home to be with our girls, though I don’t know what I’m saying because once we do, the chaos really begins.”
As for when Jenna and Henry will bring their son home, there’s no official word yet. But for now, congratulations to the Hager family on this wonderful new chapter in their lives!
