On Monday, October 7, the beloved star of BH90210 took to Instagram to celebrate her stepson Jack McDermott’s 21st birthday with a heartfelt message. The 46-year-old actress, known for her charm and warmth, opened up about her incredible relationship with Dean McDermott’s son, sharing how their bond has grown stronger over the years.
In a touching post, Tori wrote, “I’ve known this guy since he was almost 7. When we first met, I loved that he had no idea who I was. Not as Tori Spelling, but as the woman his dad was dating. He was going through so much—his parents were navigating a tough situation, and as a boy his age, divorce can be really hard to process.”

Tori recalled the early days of her relationship with Dean McDermott, which began in July 2005. She mentioned how she and Jack quickly hit it off. “We bonded over our shared love for dogs, his rabbit DIY school project, tag, hide and seek, and video games,” she reminisced. “He used to call me Teri, and I never corrected him because I adored that he had his own perception of me.”
At that time, Tori hadn’t yet become a mother herself. She reflected on how her experiences with Jack introduced her to the joys of motherhood. “This little boy grew,” she continued, speaking of Dean’s son with ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace. “I remember helping him with his homework, reading Charlotte’s Web, dressing up his hamsters in DIY Halloween costumes, and playing Polly Pockets at the pool. We laughed, played, and had so much fun that other boys his age eventually wanted to join us.”

Tori didn’t shy away from addressing the challenges they faced as Jack entered his teenage years. “There were years of awkwardness between Jack and our blended family,” she admitted candidly. “But life has a way of bringing people together when they least expect it.”
